Where does the festival take place?

Most of it takes place in Phuket Town, around Jui Tui Shrine on Ranong Road and Bang Neow Shrine on Phuket Road.

What should I know before watching a procession?

A few things to prepare for.

• Wear white. People taking part in the festival wear white for the full nine days, and visitors watching are welcome to do the same.

• The firecrackers are loud and close.

• Cover your arms and legs. Sparks carry. Long sleeves and closed shoes

• The street is occupied for the shrine procession. Stand clear from the main road.

• Some of the ceremonies are intense. Parts of the ritual may not suit young children.

• Photography is allowed. Keep a respectful distance and do not use flash near the shrine.

Sharing blessings and good wishes to all!
