Two days before your flight home, the gift list starts to feel heavy. The office wants snacks, and your suitcase is already full. You can sort most of that list in one building. Jungceylon is located directly opposite Bangla Road, about a five-minute walk from Patong Beach. Our Thai souvenir shops are grouped together in the basement of The Jungle Zone, and we're open 11 am to 10 pm every day.

Where can I buy Thai souvenirs in Patong?

Start in the basement of The Jungle Zone, near the Thairapy entrance. This is the budget-friendly part of our mall, with Thai handicrafts, elephant pants, herbal oils, local cosmetics and snacks a few steps apart. Prices are marked, so there's no need to bargain, but walk the whole row before you buy. Thai Souvenir, Mr.Elephant, CHONG KO, Kashmir Gallery, Khun Nu Crochet Home and Shine Gift Shop are all down here.

Then come up to the ground floor. Naraya is on the ground floor of The Jungle Zone, and THANN and Phutawan are on the ground floor of The Botanica Zone.

What should I buy, and which shop has it?

Fabric bags and Thai silk

A fabric bag folds flat and weighs almost nothing, which helps when there's no room left in your luggage. Naraya on the ground floor of The Jungle Zone is our pick for these. For Thai silk and fabrics, go down to KANJIRA in the basement, Room S21. Elephant pants are sold in the shops around the Thairapy entrance.

Spa products and herbal balms

THANN makes botanical skincare and has two shops with us. One is on the ground floor of The Botanica Zone, and THANN 2 is on the ground floor of The Jungle Zone. Phutawan, also on the ground floor of The Botanica Zone, is another stop for Thai spa and wellness gifts. Herbal oils and aromatherapy products are sold in the basement too, near the Thairapy entrance.

Phuket snacks to take home

Banzaan Fresh Market on Sai Kor Road sells fresh produce, which won't survive the flight home. Packaged snacks will. Khunmaeju in the basement of The Jungle Zone sells Phuket cashew nuts, Tao Sor and Nam Phrik Kung Siap. Tao Sor is Phuket's small, flaky mung bean pastry. Nam Phrik Kung Siap is a chili paste made with smoked shrimp. Siam Pork is also in the basement.

For snacks in bulk, Big C is on the ground floor of The Botanica Zone. It opens at 9 am and closes at 11 pm, two hours before and one hour after the rest of the mall.

Magnets, small gifts and art

Siam Magnet and MJ Memory are on the ground floor of The Botanica Zone, if you need a stack of small gifts for the office. For something to hang on a wall, go up to The Maple Gallery on the 2nd floor of The Jungle Zone.

How do I get a free souvenir at Jungceylon?

Stop at our Tourist Privilege Booth in The Bay Zone before you shop. Register there for a Tourist Privilege Card and you'll receive a free souvenir and discounts at participating shops. Show your boarding pass, Sea Pass card or hotel keycard to pick up one free item from our Elephant Collection, once per visit. In the basement, CHONG KO, Kashmir Gallery and Mr.Elephant all take part. Ask at the booth for this month's offers.

Some advice for our lovely visitors

• Change money inside the mall Lion Currency Exchange has three counters with us. The counters in The Botanica Zone and The Garden Zone are open 9 am to 10 pm. The one in The Bay Zone is open 10 am to 10 pm. The last order at all three is 9:30 pm.
• Pack liquids in your checked bag  airport security treats honey, coconut oil and chili paste as liquids. Seal them well and keep them out of your hand luggage. Watsons on the ground floor of The Botanica Zone and Boots in the basement of The Jungle Zone sell travel-sized products.
• Ask about VAT refunds look for the "VAT Refund for Tourists" sign and bring your passport. Purchases over 2,000 baht can qualify.
• Check before buying Buddha images or antiques taking them out of Thailand needs an export license from the Fine Arts Department. Ask the shop before you pay.
